What are snake eggs supposed to look like after 24 hours?
My corn snake laid a couple eggs 24 hours ago, so I put them in a home made incubator (7 or 8 hours ago), put heating pad under there and put it back in the original cage with a small heat lamp above it. (I also put some water in the material to make it moist, and I did not put water directly on the eggs). As of right now they look kind of dry. They are still kind of white, but they have the slightest hint of yellow. My question is: Is this normal? What should they look like after 24 hours? And lastly, if they do end up dying, is it a big deal? I eventually want to have more eggs (i recently put a male snake in the cage), and I am wondering if there is going to be another chance for them to mate. And if they do mate, how soon will it be? Please please please answer all my questions. Thanks
